1.2 The Values of the New European Bauhaus
The Values of the New European Bauhaus
- Sustainability
- Inclusion
- Esthetics
In full compliance with the EU Values stated in the Treaty of Lisbon, a recent Initiative of the European Commission has been launched: the New European Bauhaus. Through this Initiative the Values of Sustainability (climate/planet care), Inclusion (social care) and Esthetics (arts and culture) are standing centrally and together with Partners and Citizens from the EU and beyond the EU, the European Commission is exploring and designing ways in which these three Values can come and work together while making each of them stronger. So as EU Cultural Youth Ambassador you are invited and called upon to propose and promote ways in which the Values of sustainability, inclusion and esthetics can be combined and strengthened according to your personal ideas.
As EU Cultural Youth Ambassador it is also important for you to know that the historical Bauhaus Movement (Weimar Republic 1919-1933) to which the New European Bauhaus refers, considered the arts students inside their movement as the creative and intellectual equals of the professors and artists inside this Movement. https://europa.eu/new-european-bauhaus/index_en
